About the app
MetallicCrypto tracks cryptocurrency market data: global market capitalisation and trading volume over a range of timeframes, individual coin prices and charts, a personal watchlist, and a news feed drawn from public crypto news sources.
Common questions
Why do prices differ from my exchange?
Prices are aggregated across many exchanges by CoinMarketCap and represent a market-wide average. Any individual exchange will differ, sometimes noticeably during volatile periods.
How often does data refresh?
Market data is fetched when you open a screen and when you pull to refresh. It is not a live streaming feed, so figures may be a few minutes old.
My watchlist disappeared.
The watchlist is stored on your device only, not in an account. Deleting and reinstalling the app, or moving to a new device, clears it. It is also separate on each device, so the iPhone and Android apps do not share a watchlist. There is no way to recover one after the app has been deleted.
Can I buy or sell crypto in the app?
No. MetallicCrypto is read-only. It displays market information and does not support trading, does not connect to exchanges or wallets, and never holds funds or assets.
The news feed is empty.
News comes from public feeds that occasionally go offline. Pull to refresh, and if it stays empty for more than a few hours, please email so it can be looked into.
Do I need an account?
No. The app has no sign-in and collects no personal information. See the privacy policy for details.
Reporting a bug
Email mike@metallic-ai.com with what you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead. A screenshot is helpful. On iPhone, crashes are also reported automatically and anonymously, which usually surfaces the underlying fault without any action from you. The Android app has no crash reporting, so on Android a description is the only thing that reaches us.
