Privacy Policy
MetallicCrypto for iPhone and Android · Last updated 22 August 2026
MetallicCrypto does not require an account, does not ask for personal information, and does not track you across apps or websites.
This policy covers the MetallicCrypto apps for iPhone and Android. They behave the same way with one exception, noted below: the iPhone app reports crashes, and the Android app collects nothing at all.
What the app stores on your device
Your watchlist is saved locally using each platform's standard
app-preferences storage — UserDefaults on iPhone, DataStore on
Android. It stays on your device, is never transmitted to us, and is deleted
when you delete the app.
Opening the Watchlist screen asks CoinMarketCap for prices for the coins you are watching, which necessarily tells CoinMarketCap which coins you follow. It sends nothing that identifies you. Every other screen works without a watchlist.
What is collected
| Data | Purpose | Apps | Linked to you |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crash diagnostics | Diagnosing crashes so they can be fixed | iPhone only | No |
On iPhone, crash reporting is provided by Google Firebase Crashlytics. When the app crashes, it records a stack trace along with the device model, operating system version, app version, and a randomly generated installation identifier. This identifier is not tied to your name, email, Apple ID, or any other personal information, and it is not used to build a profile of you.
It contains no crash reporting, no analytics, and no telemetry of any kind. It requests exactly two permissions: internet access, and the ability to check whether a network is available.
Neither app contains advertising, analytics profiling, or third-party advertising SDKs. Neither accesses the device's advertising identifier — the IDFA on iPhone or the Advertising ID on Android. The iPhone app presents no App Tracking Transparency prompt, because it performs no tracking as Apple defines it.
Information the app does not collect
- No name, email address, phone number, or postal address
- No account, password, or sign-in of any kind
- No contacts, photos, calendar, microphone, camera, or health data
- No precise or coarse location
- No financial account, wallet, or payment information
- No advertising identifier
Third-party services
To display market data and news, the app requests information from the services below. As with any internet request, these providers receive your device's IP address and standard connection metadata. The app does not send them any personal information about you.
| Service | Used for | Their policy |
|---|---|---|
| CoinMarketCap | Cryptocurrency prices, market capitalisation, and volume | Policy |
| Cointelegraph | Public news feed | Policy |
| Decrypt | Public news feed | Policy |
| Google Firebase Crashlytics | Crash reporting (iPhone app only) | Policy |
Data retention and deletion
Because no personal information is collected, there is no account to close and no personal data for us to delete on request. Deleting the app removes your watchlist and all locally stored data from your device. Crash reports from the iPhone app are retained by Firebase Crashlytics according to Google's published retention schedule and cannot be traced back to an individual user. The Android app produces no such reports.
Children
MetallicCrypto is not directed at children under 13, and no information is knowingly collected from children.
Not financial advice
MetallicCrypto displays publicly available market data and news for informational purposes only. Nothing in the app is investment, financial, or trading advice. The app does not facilitate buying, selling, or trading of any asset, and holds no funds or assets. Market data may be delayed or inaccurate.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated date above.
